The rapid development of camera and CCTV technology has left the physical support systems, like enclosures, far behind. Many installers are forced to deal with standard electrical boxes in their efforts to create a proper mounting and connection setup. Allbro has addressed this issue by introducing the first of its kind camera enclosure.
Manufactured and designed in South Africa, the Camera-Nest (Patent Pending) offers innovative solutions to the specific challenges of this application in a way that has never been achieved before.
When one first sees Allbro’s “Camera Nest”, it is hard to classify it as merely a camera box. One of the first significant distinctions is how the installer interacts with it. A small mounting bracket can be easily set up using two screws. The camera attaches to the “Camera Nest”, after which the entire unit is secured to the bracket using a single screw.
The open connection housing located on the side is now accessible for cabling and testing while the camera remains in position. This feature provides various benefits, with the main one being that a test harness can be utilized to align the camera since the leads are easy to reach.
The Camera Nest is NOT constructed from plastic. For four decades, Allbro has employed GRP, a fiberglass material based on resin. This durable material endures for years even with direct exposure and can accommodate several generations of cameras. The enclosure has an IP rating of IP66, meaning it effectively keeps out dust and water. The method of mounting ensures that this IP rating remains intact during screw installation. Allbro views this concept as a revolutionary idea poised to transform camera installation practices for good.
